1.) STALL REST 1ST 24 HOURS
2.) 2ND DAY, HAND WALK (15 MINUTES) AND STALL REST, COLD WATER HOSE SHEATH AND INCISION
3.) 3RD DAY BEGIN JOGGING/LOUNGING/EQUISIZER 30 MINUTES PER DAY, TURN OUT AND COLD WATER HOSE SHEATH AND INCISIONS FOR 14 DAYS.
4.) THE WORST SWELLING DAYS ARE USUALLY 5-7; BE SURE THE HORSE IS EXERCISED, AND, INCISION AND SHEATH ARE HOSED.
5.) TAKE RECTAL TEMPERATURE DAILY.
6.) HALF FEED THE FIRST DAY, NORMAL HAY AND WATER. INCREASE FEED INTAKE
AS EXERCISE INCREASES.
7.) ANTIBIOTICS AND BUTE AS DIRECTED.
8.) OTHER THERAPY AS DIRECTED.
9.) CALL IMMEDIATELY IF SWELLING, COLIC, OR FEVER DEVELOPE.CALL
IMMEDIATELY IF THERE IS ANYTHING PROTRUDING FROM THE WOUND.
